You have questions about using your ING card? Here is some useful information.
As required by law and outlined in your ING Card contract, you are required to repay at least 10% of your purchases each month, with a minimum of 25 euros. This minimum amount is automatically debited from the ING current account linked to your ING Card on the 1st of the month following your statement. If you do not have an ING current account, you will need to transfer the amount yourself.
The compulsory minimum monthly repayment amount for your ING Card only applies if there is still an outstanding balance owing on your card. Even if you have not used your card recently.
Unfortunately, no. The minimum monthly repayment amount is fixed by law and corresponds with 10% of the total amount owing on your ING Card for all new contracts taken out since 2013. If your card was issued before 2013 and the minimum monthly repayment amount is different to 10% of the total amount owing, the only change possible is to change this minimum monthly amount to the current rate of 10%.
In the event you do not repay the minimum monthly amount owing on your ING Card, you will receive a reminder letter explaining the necessary steps to take. In this case ING may be forced to terminate the contract and block your card.
All transactions made with your ING Card are closed on the 19th of the month. Any transactions made after the 19th of the month, including any payments or repayments made, will appear on your next statement and are not taken into account for the calculation of the compulsory minimum monthly repayment.
In accordance with the law on consumer credit, all holders of an ING Card credit card are obliged to repay the outstanding amount of their card in full within a time limit set by the law. In other words, the balance of your ING Card credit card must be equal to or greater than 0 for at least 24 hours before this date. You will find this due date and the amount to be paid on your credit card statement. You will also receive a reminder letter 3 months before the deadline.
In the event you do not reimburse the balance of your ING Card in full before the end date stipulated by law, you will in fact be in breach of the terms of your credit contract, in which case ING may be forced to terminate the contract and block your card. You will receive a reminder letter explaining the necessary steps to take.
