The essential online bank account

Anyone can open an online bank account if :

• you are aged 18 or over with full legal capacity. Not old enough yet ? Check out our Go to 18 youth current account.
• You're a private individual and want to use this online bank account for private use only.
• You have an e-mail address. That's it !

Any limitation ?

• You can have up to 2 ING Lion Accounts per person.
• You can't have more than 2 account holders on each ING Lion Account (no mandate holders, either).

Your ING Lion Account costs a flat fee of 1.90 euros per month. But if you're an account holder between 18 and 25 years old, you won't pay anything.

You'll get :

• 1 current account in euros, for private use only, for the first account holder (max. 2 account holders allowed).
• A debit card equipped with Bancontact and Maestro.
• 3 cash withdrawals in euros per month by debit card form any ATM in the SEPA zone.
• Access to our ING Banking app and its handy features.
• Your account statements via Home'Bank.
• Phone assistance with our helpdesk from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Main charges for additional services :

• Second account holder : 0.80 euros per month.
• From the 4th cash withdrawals in euros per month from a SEPA-zone ATM, you'll be charged 0.50 euros per withdrawals.
• Replacing a lost or stolen debit card : 9.99 euros per card.

Important : a negative interest rate of 0.50% per year is applied to any balance over 250,000.00 euros.

Once your application has been accepted, you'll receive a debit card and an ING Card Reader by post. You can then install the ING Banking app on your smartphone or tablet, the most practical and secure solution to manage your account on a daily basis.

For some specific operations, such as printing out your statements or sending money internationally outside the SEPA-zone, you'll need to log in to Home'Bank, our e-banking platform. Lastly, you can also deposit or withdraw money via one of our Self'Bank terminals.

The ING Lion Account is a current account exclusively in euros for private individuals over the age of 18 who have full legal capacity and have an e-mail address. Online applications to open an account via ing.be are reserved solely for private individuals residing in Belgium at the time of application. Maximum two ING Lion Accounts per person. Maximum of two authorised account holders per ING Lion Account and no mandate holders allowed . If there are two account holders, each holder has the same administrative powers and signs alone for his or her transactions (including closure of the account). For de facto associations (in other words, those without legal personality), ING offers the ING Green Account through its branches. 

The ING Lion Account is a current account that you manage online. It can be applied for at ing.be, via smartphone or via Home’Bank, and it is opened free of charge after signing the account opening document online or at an ING branch. All applications for an ING Lion Account are subject to approval by ING Belgium S.A./nv and by mutual agreement.

The ING Lion Account is charged with a monthly fee of €1,90. The monthly fee does not apply if all account holders on the account are aged from 18 to 25. The second holder is charged a monthly fee of €0.80.

The monthly fee for your ING Lion Account will include 3 cash withdrawals in euros per debit card per month from any ATM in the SEPA zone. As of the 4th withdrawal, a 0.50 euro fee will be applied per withdrawal.

A negative interest of 0.50% on an annual basis is applied on the balance above 250.000 euros.
