Direct debit

The simple, automatic solution for paying your bills

Want to pay your bills from regular suppliers, such as your energy or telecom provider, automatically? Simply set up a direct debit! By authorising a creditor, e.g. your insurance company, to debit the amount from your current account, directly, you avoid the risk of late or missed payments.

  • Save time

Your payments are executed automatically, without even thinking about it. Even when the amount varies.

  • Never pay late again

Your bills are always paid on time, avoiding late payment charges.

  • Easy to manage

Manage your direct debits yourself in Home’Bank.

  • Free

There is no charge for this service.

Practical and Europe-wide: you can request a direct debit to be set up to pay bills in euros to a creditor in Belgium or elsewhere in Europe. This is because the European direct debit system covers the SEPA zone (Single European Payment Area), which includes all European Union member states along with some others such as Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Monaco and San Marino. So you can even pay invoices issued by non-Belgian creditors – such as your subscription to a German news website – automatically and easily.

ING does not create European direct debits associated with your current account itself. To set up or cancel a direct debit, you need to contact your supplier. In the event of a dispute relating to a bill, you still have the option of blocking the payment or requesting a refund. You can do this in Home’Bank by going to Daily banking > My accounts and payments > Direct debits > Manage blocks.

Contact your supplier

and request to pay your bills via direct debit.

Activate your direct debit

by authorizing your supplier to debit your account.

Track and manage the payments
