It is a complete non-life insurance for your car, developed by NN Non-Life Insurance SA/NV a Dutch incorporated company set up to insure Belgian risks and subject to Belgian law, at competitive rates with tailor-made cover.

Any individual aged at least 18 with a legal address in Belgium can take out the insurance. The vehicle to be insured must be registered in Belgium.

  • Applying for ING Car Insurance:

    • You can calculate the rate for your car insurance first. The easiest way to do this is via Home’Bank but you can also do it online, by calling +32 2 464 65 04 or at your branch

    • Once your application is accepted, you will receive the general and special terms and conditions by post and e-mail.

  • Cancel your current policy with another insurer:

    • Apply for your ING Car Insurance straight away and leave ING to handle your switch free of charge! Have the following information ready:
      • the name of your current insurance company
      • your policy number
      • the main renewal date of your current policy.

    • Or contact your current insurer at least three months before the main renewal date of your current policy.
  • Premium: You get a tailor-made rate. You will find here more information about the segmentation policy.
  • Term: The car insurance policies have a term of one year. The agreement is automatically extended for a new period of one year on each annual due date, unless you give notice of cancellation no later than three months before the expiry date.

Managing your policy is very easy at ING. You choose how you want to do it.

  • You use Home'Bank to manage your ING Car Insurance electronically. You can use it to change your policy quickly and easily in a paperless way.
  • You can call the ING Car Team on 02 464 65 04. They will immediately make the necessary changes to your policy.
  • You can of course also manage it at your ING branch.

Whichever method you choose, you will always receive confirmation of your changes by post and e-mail.

ING Car Insurance includes 5 basic elements:

  • Civil Liability (required by law): covers damage you cause to third parties.
  • Legal Aid: covers all costs of defending your interests, such as legal expenses and court fees.
  • Mini-Comprehensive: protects you against damage resulting from an unforeseen occurrence (theft, glass breakage, fire, hail, etc.)
  • Comprehensive insurance: covers you for damage caused by unexpected circumstances (broken glass, theft, fire, hail, etc.) but also for damage to your vehicle if you are at fault.
  • Service in case of a claim (always included): provides assistance after an accident in Belgium.

You can also choose additional cover:

  • Driver's insurance: covers medical costs or loss of income if you are unable to work when you are injured in an accident where you are at fault. Death is also covered.
  • Premium protection after a claim: guarantees that your premium does not rise following an accident where you are at fault.
  • Breakdown assistance at home and abroad: provides assistance following a breakdown or an accident in Belgium and abroad.
