To help you get to grips with ING Invest Advice, we have prepared a series of questions and answers to help you get started.
Transfer money
For your ING Invest Advice, it is not possible to open a cash line in a foreign currency. In the case you sell investments labelled in a foreign currency, we will make an euro-settlement. For an ING Invest Advice, the exchange rate applied towards euro has been reduced to 0.50%
Homebank
Ready to invest ?
You need first to have enough balance on your ING Investment Account. How to do it? Or you sold securities and want to transfer the money of the sale to your reference account (cash account)?
In this video, you can see step by step in Home’Bank how to manage money transfers to or from your ING Investment Account.
After a sell order, you can transfer the amount received to your ING account on the date of the effective settlement of the transaction (most often 1 or 2 days after execution).
... to the cash line of an investment account?
The cash line of each investment account must be notified to the National Bank of Belgium. Therefore a number with the 'IBAN' structure has been created, but it is not a real IBAN: this number cannot be used to execute direct transfers. It is only possible to execute transfers between the reference account and the cash line of the different investment accounts linked to that reference account.
Investment account
Your investment account consists of two components (parts): a portfolio component and a cash component. The cash component is the liquid part of your investment account. From here you can make purchases and transfer money to and from the payment account.

The investment accounts ING Self Invest and ING Invest Advice operate in accordance with the same principles:

*Just bear in mind that in this case, all account holders, mandate holders and/or legal representatives must be the same for both the cash account and any linked investment accounts.
- Purchases:
In order to issue buy orders from any of these investment accounts, all you have to do is send the right amount from your cash account to the relevant investment account and then place the order
- Sales:
The proceeds from any sales, dividend payments, etc. are credited to the investment account. You can then transfer these funds to your cash account if you wish.
