The coronavirus, and in particular the measures taken to prevent its spread, is causing an unprecedented economic shock. Naturally, this has consequences for the real estate market.

Belgian real-estate immune to the crisis?

House prices grew fast in 2020, all the while the economy was in deep recession. And according to the National Bank of Belgium, the overvaluation of residential real estate doubled in 2020. How can we explain this and what is the outlook? For the construction sector the first lockdown was a difficult period. But afterwards the sector could recover nicely. Will the construction sector continue to recover in 2021?
