Online security

No, they did not really infect your computer!

They threaten to disclose your confidential information. Do not be taken in by empty threats.

How does it work?

You receive an email threatening to disclose certain confidential information unless you pay up. They claim to have infected your computer and have accessed compromising information (for example, visits to adult websites).

IT'S NOT TRUE! These master blackmailers do not hold any compromising information about you.

“They know my password!”

Remember that this kind of information is unfortunately available on the internet as a result of data breaches from certain websites that you use. They did not need to hack your computer to obtain this information.

What do I need to do?

  • Don't panic

  • Don't pay

  • Change your passwords if in doubt
