You pay no fees or charges on this savings account
Both opening and managing this account are free of charge. You can transfer money to or from your savings account yourself online or via your smartphone or tablet. If you link an ING current account to this savings account, you can also make your deposits via a Self'Bank machine.
You can open your account online or at an ING branch
If you are not an ING customer yet, simply make an appointment at the branch of your choice. Our staff will open the account for you.
If you are already an ING customeryou can open your savings account quickly and easily via Home’Bank.
This regulated savings account is subject to Belgian law. It is prohibited by law to charge negative interest on this account and ING will never do this.
And what if ING were to go bankrupt? The government deposit guarantee scheme protects your savings up to 100,000 euros. The scheme does not cover savings above this amount, however, which could be lost or subjected to a reduction or share conversion (bail-in).
You choose how much, how often and for how long your save
Every month or every now and then… With deposits of any desired amount. The choice is yours. For 1 month, 1 year, 10 years or more. In any case, for as long as you like. You make the deposits yourself online or via your smartphone or tablet.
You can always get to your money when you need it: simply transfer it to your current account.
You pay no tax on your interest
The interest you earn on your ING Green Savings Account up to node=/RATES/GENERAL/EXEMPTION;replace=html euros is exempt from the standard node=/RATES/GENERAL/EXEMPTION_PERCENT;replace=html% withholding tax. If you are married or legally cohabiting, your joint ING Green Savings Account will be exempt from withholding tax for all interest earned up to twice that amount: i.e. node=/RATES/GENERAL/EXEMPTION2;replace=html euros per couple (for the node=/RATES/GENERAL/INCOME_YEAR;replace=html income year).
We automatically pay your interest into your savings account
You receive your base interest annually on 1 January.
You receive your fidelity premium after 12 consecutive months. You will receive this interest at regular intervals (every 3 months) on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October.
You can easily monitor your account balance and interest via your account statements, Home'Bank and our apps for smartphone and tablet.

These rates are applied annually and are subject to change at any time. The current percentages are always available on this site and from your ING branch. If the rates change, we will inform the account holder via their account statements. Regulated savings accounts with less than node=/RATES/GENERAL/EXEMPTION;replace=html euros in interest (per taxpayer for the node=/RATES/GENERAL/TAX_YEAR;replace=html tax year and node=/RATES/GENERAL/INCOME_YEAR;replace=html income year) are exempt from withholding tax (currently node=/RATES/GENERAL/EXEMPTION_PERCENT;replace=html%).
